Rumor - Kings Island adding Hyper-Coaster in 2009

Kings Island has recently made headlines for eliminating the backwards train on the Racer. The general reaction to this has been negative and the park has no major additions in store for the new season.

Many are wondering what if King's Island is declining since it's sale to Cedar Fair. In it's 'paramount' years, the park added record setting attractions such as The Flight of Fear, The Son of Beast, and Drop Zone. Last year, Cedar Fair added Firehawk, a flying coaster, to restrained fanfare. This roller coaster was a transplant from newly-closed Geauga Lake. This move was seen by many enthusiasts as a cheap way to add a new attraction, which was neither ground breaking nor original.

Coaster Enthusiasts: fear not. Rumors are swirling around the Internet that the amusement park is planning to add a major attraction for 2009.

Screamscape, an online roller coaster enthusiast website, has speculated that King's Island will add a hyper coaster. The word is that the manufacturer will be B&M and the roller coaster will feature a drop up to 240 feet. The website reports that the placement will be in the Rivertown section of the park. Here is a conceptual layout of the new roller coaster:
There are also photos of the construction that can be found: here. B&M has produced some of the world's finest roller coasters. If the rumor is true, King's Island may regain it reputation as one of the world's finest parks (as featured in The Brady Bunch).
